Coo-ee was built 1903 by August Plym at Stockholms Båtbyggeri (SBB) at Liljeholmsvarvet. This was only a year before the shipyard accidently was burnt. This ship is one of the oldest still sailing August Plym scerry cruisers.

Coo-ee was ordered in the beginning of the century by a well-known salesman in Stockholm, Harald Lundbergh. “A magnifique sailing yacht”, as it was said,  was delivered 1903 with named blankets and named silver goblets, which still follows the boat.

Coo-ee was well kept at Djurö outside Stockholm and was sailed by the very same family Lundbergh in the Stockholm archipelago for almost fourty years until the second world war.

During the war the Swedish army needed lead for ammunition and most yachts were demanded to sell their keels - so did also Coo-ee. The yacht didn’t touch water until late 1940’s, when a new and deeper iron keel was replacing the old one. By the same time the original gaff rigg was changed into a Bermuda rigg.

Around early 1960’s Coo-ee appears at the swedish westcoast as “Majsan”, in a good shape and still without motor. Majsan participated in several local races with very good results but was coated with plastic by the end of 1970. Between 1970 and 1990 there were several owners and the shape was quickly dilapidating. In late 1980’s only used as a motorship.

She was found in a very bad condition, almost as a wreck, in 1989. The restoration started 1995 and Coo-ee is now close to it’s original shape.

Coo-ee is an Australian aboriginal word for ”hello”. It was a quite common boatname a hundred years ago, when exotic names were popular.

Coo-ee is faster than many modern yachts and with the weight of 3,5 tons she takes waves calmly. The sailing comfort is high as the bottom is rather flat; the yacht is an upright sailor and waves rarely passes the cockpit borders.
